Spaghetti

Hello folks, Anjan here. Thought I'd post a little Moronoid-related something that might be of interest.

The first story in issue 01 is called 'Spaghetti.' All the stories in Moronoid are in black and white, which was something we decided to do to keep costs down and save ourselves a bit of time, but Spaghetti was in fact originally a colour strip that I created for the Jonathan Cape/Observer Graphic Short Story Competition.

Unfortunately for me the strip didn't move the judges.

Since we published it in Moronoid I've discovered that it seems to create some confusion; what I thought was a solid, punchy and satifying ending turned out to be fairly ambiguous for some people. Oh well. Anyway, judge for yourselves...in colour!

(Any interesting theories about the final panel will be duly noted.)

Comic Cast

Last year I sent a copy of Issue #1 to Liam Geraghty of 'Gazebo' and 'The Littlest Arsonist' fame (available to buy here) as I was so impressed with his writing. Liam also co-runs Ireland's excellent
Comic Cast which I'd recommend anyway but even more so as they've given us a glowing review and quite detailed breakdown of the comic.
The Comic Cast is a fun but informative insight into various comics and films that Liam and Craig have been checking out so fire by when you get the chance.

Review

Carl at 'Exposed Magazine' gave us this glowing review/preview.
Cheers matey...

Kill or Cure

Here's a 3 pager I did for Issue One called 'Kill or Cure'.
It was scripted by Marcus Daley and features a young
rocker on his way to his job at the local eatery.

Covers

We gave Issue One a reversable cover which was a shit
idea in retrospect and just confused everyone.

Issue One

Welcome to the Moronoid Blog. Issue One is available online from
our online shops (see opposite links) or from 'Rare and Racy' and
'Record Collector' in Sheffield and 'Travelling Man' in Manchester.
I'm hoping to get it into 'The Sandbar' in Manchester too asap aswell
as other venues here and there.
Here's a preview Anjan whipped up for the Leeds Con...
